What is Emergency Dentistry?

Dr. Besho offers emergency dentistry services to treat dental emergencies and injuries. Many common emergencies can be treated in our office with same-day care. If you need further care, our team will perform an exam and provide a referral if necessary.

Common dental emergencies include severe toothache, chipped teeth, cracked teeth, fractured teeth, gum abscesses, or pain and swelling due to a tooth abscess. Common dental injuries include loosened teeth, knocked out teeth, broken tooth roots, lacerations on the lips or inside of the mouth, or sports-related accidents. Our dentist also recommends calling our office in cases of loose or missing fillings, loose or broken crowns, loose or broken bridges, or other issues with dental repair work. You may not experience any pain or discomfort, but be sure to speak to a trained dental professional to determine if you need urgent care.

A member of our trained dental team will discuss your condition and instruct you on how to alleviate your symptoms until your appointment.

Can I Treat My Dental Emergency at Home?

In many cases, you may reduce pain or discomfort with over-the-counter pain relievers. You may also use warm compresses to treat swelling or pain. However, these are temporary remedies, and they do not treat the underlying causes of your emergency condition. Be sure to speak to a member of our team as soon as possible to get the care you need.
